WHY TAMSUI
Come for the light on the river
Tamsui keeps its own slow time. The tide comes and goes, the sunset slides down the river, and the scent of pastries drifts under the old-street arcades. On the way to FlourFlour, the town itself is reason enough to make the trip.
The Town of Tamsui

Golden Waterfront
At dusk the Tamsui River turns to gold. Walk the bank and watch the sunset set the whole surface alight.

Danjiang Bridge
The Danjiang Bridge now spans the river mouth, drawing a fresh new line across the skyline.

The Ferry Pier
A century-old crossing still ferries passengers today. A short boat ride to Bali on the far bank is Tamsui's oldest kind of romance.

Historic Architecture
Fort San Domingo, the Little White House and Oxford College hold Tamsui's treaty-port years between red brick and arcades.

Tamsui Old Street
Eat your way from Zhongzheng Road down to the river — a-gei, fish crackers and fresh-baked snacks fill Tamsui's liveliest lane.

Rongti Waterfront
Old banyan trees shade the river's edge. Sit beneath them and watch the sun sink into the estuary — Tamsui at its most unhurried.
